Welcome to 2010!
DASL Associated
Press (DS) I don't believe it,
half the school year is over and we are
already getting prepared for 2010-2011.
Time flies when you're having fun!
You may want to be careful, Cupid is on
the loose, I have arrows all over my
office, boy do I love my job! LACA
would like to welcome you to the new
year, and what better way than letting
you know what to expect:
School Year Initialization:
Student Services will
be initializing the 2010-2011 school year
in DASL starting the first week of
January and we hope to have most of them
completed by the third week of January.
Those in charge of scheduling will want
to prepare for the scheduling classes
starting in February and continuing
through April. LACA will be
publishing a Scheduling Checklist
explaining what should be accomplished
before coming to the classes. We
also have scheduled extra open labs in
case you need help preparing for
scheduling. If you need our help using
the DASL Public Module this year -
please contact LACA and schedule one of
our student services staff to assist
you.
SINC:
New Reports.
There have been several new reports
created in SINC. Don't forget to
check every now and then to see if any
of them would may be useful to your
building or district. Thanks to
everyone that gave LACA the report
ideas!
Export.
There is a new report in SINC which
allows you to export assessment
information into an excel spreadsheet.
The report is called Excel Data Export
and is located under the General
Category. If you have any
questions, please contact us.
DASL Release:
Don't forget to read the release notes
for the new DASL release. There
are significant changes with the SIS
Student Search in EZQUERY. One
thing we noticed is they removed address
from this, but you use the new SINC
Report called EXCEL Data Export located
in SINC. The release notes are
located in SINC under Documentation.

Important
Updates(2)
|
10/24/2008 - In the past we have coded Resident students elswhere in SIS (R Status) by withdrawing the student. In DASL there are a few changes: - change the EMIS Situation - change the calendar and assign the student to the non-attending calendar Note - Don't withdraw the student.
10/24/2008 - Please note if you see labels being cut off, before sending in a ticket, go to your Adobe Acrobat Reader print settings, and set “Page Scaling” to "None" and un-check the “Auto-Rotate and Center” checkbox.

Student
Services Employee Spotlight

|
LACA presents
in the lime light, the EMIS Queen, Mary Knicely.
Mary has been with LACA for 18 years. Her
ability to stay on top of EMIS requirements and
support multiple Student Services programs has made
her a valuable asset to LACA. The force with
this Jedi is strong!

Fun Facts

Scientists have discovered that copper pollution of the atmosphere occurred about 2500 years ago. This was discovered by analyzing ice cores from Greenland. The pollution was attributed to the Romans who used copper for military purposes and to produce coins. |
